Fairview Treatment Center does allow smoking at designated times, in designated areas. Smoking cessation is offered to all clients. However, if you have a chronic lung condition (asthma, COPD, etc.) you will be required to undergo smoking cessation. If you choose to smoke and have an acute episode, you will be medically discharged.
A list of items that you can and cannot bring to treatment can be found on our Resources page.
You will have a rigorous schedule that you are required to follow upon admission to treatment. The schedule includes group sessions, lectures, family visitation, spirituality, art therapy, self-led groups, case management, individual sessions, assignments, rest, and recreation.
Over the first three days you will be administered a medication protocol that requires rest, nutrition, hydration, and limited recreation. The detox counselor will be working with you to determine if you should undergo outpatient rehab or if inpatient treatment would be a better option. If you choose inpatient treatment, you will be transferred to the rehab program upon completing detox treatment. There you will learn about recovery tools and begin to create an aftercare plan to prepare for long-term sobriety.
